In this webinar, we will talk about how to prevent the childhood mortality caused by Sickle Cell
Disease (SCD) in Sub-Saharan Africa by introducing the newborn screening programme for SCD.

Dr Lawrence Osei-Tutu: A specialist clinical paediatric haematologist-oncologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Ghana. Dr Lawrence Osei-Tutu has established a
sickle cell clinic that offers hydroxyurea therapy to about 120 children, adolescents and adults,
under the Ghana-Novartis Hydroxyurea for Sickle Cell (Ahodwo) programme
