20th – 22st May, 2022
Free Registration for those living with Sickle Cell Disease!
Dear people living with SCD, caregivers, families and colleagues,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the FIRST GLOBAL CONFERENCE OF SICKLE CELL DISEASE ORGANIZATIONS which will be held virtually from May 20 to May 22, 2022.
This conference will bring together sickle cell disease (SCD) stakeholders including People living with SCD, caregivers, health care providers, researchers, advocacy groups, global health organizations and health policymakers.
It will feature high-level educational sessions addressing clinically relevant and important topics such as SCD pathophysiology, disease complications including those underrecognized ones and advances in diagnosis, treatment and multi-disciplinary care. Novel therapies from recently approved drugs to curative ones including hematopoietic stem cell transplant and gene therapy will be addressed. The various unmet needs and challenges facing the global SCD community including ER care, stigmatization, employment, psychosocial issues, mental health and others will be covered in multiple patient-centred panels highlighting testimonies and experiences of patients and caregivers from all over the world.
This conference is designed to be a perfect forum for exchanging ideas and knowledge to help apply SCD diagnostic and therapeutic advances to improve the life expectancy and quality of life of people with SCD globally including those living in low-resource settings and to ensure equitable access to safe care. It will give those living with SCD the opportunity to raise their voices high, talk about what needs to be achieved and be heard by all those who care about this most prevalent BUT still highly neglected genetic disease.
We look forward to welcoming you to this vibrant – educational conference
